So Chris and Darren have movie nights where they work their way through every stupid film that everyone has to see at least once in their life, while eating their body weight in take out and one night they’re watching The Notebook and Chris comments that he’s never been kissed in the rain.
And Darren is shocked but Chris just shrugs like “well I had a hard enough time growing up getting people to talk to me. Getting them to kiss me was pretty much a no go,” and he’s never been kissed on Valentines Day or New Years Eve or under the mistletoe and Darren knows Chris has had a few guys and he’s definitely not some innocent virgin but he just can’t understand how Chris of all people is missing out on the stupidly essential romantic parts of a relationship
So it starts on set and they’re filming the Christmas episode and Darren searches everywhere to try and find real mistletoe because he’s doing this thing properly dammit, and he pulls Chris around a corner and holds it up and kisses him just once, softly and gentler than anything they’ve ever done as Kurt and Blaine and Chris’s eyes are closed when Darren pulls away with a shrug and a smile
And he doesn’t stop there and Chris starts to see it coming, and Darren finds him at the New Years party when they’re tipsy and maybe the kiss lingers for just a little too long and too wet, and they press too hard against each other
He pulls Chris out into a rainstorm in January and spins him around the parking lot until they’re laughing and then he kisses him harder, clutching their soaking bodies together until it’s almost skin on skin and Chris tastes like rain
On Valentines Day there’s chocolates and roses and stupid teddies with hearts and Chris rolls his eyes and lets Darren cover his eyes and push a chocolate between his lips with his own mouth, lingering until all traces have been licked away
And then it’s March and Chris can’t think of anything romantic, particularly and Darren’s been distant and awkward and so not Darren that it’s making Chris edgy and he won’t talk to him, and Chris just doesn’t understand
The Darren turns up at his trailer door, half in costume but with damp curly hair and he’s half Blaine and half Darren, and his face is determined and before Chris can even say anything Darren tugs him forwards and kisses him so gently and sweetly, brushing their lips and tongues together so softly that Chris lets out a quiet oh as they part
“What big romantic event was that even for?”
“It wasn’t. That was just for me.”
